Church Membership Prayer

Spanish - Español

Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD. (Jeremiah 23:1)

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. (1 Corinthians 3:16-17)

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. (Galatians 1:8)

Heavenly Father, thank you for your immensely abundant Grace; all of it.

Almighty God, we are gathered here today in your name, and are really being asked to answer what should be, and is, the most important question of our lives: which church to be a member of?

Glorify your Name!

If the overseers at this church are not faithful ministers of Your Word, we ask that you make that be known clearly to us; because in your final sayings and messages, you commanded us to be vigilant—especially today.

You warned us against principalities in high places, and of the abominations of men that would make your temple desolate; but you are the Most High God, King of kings and Lord of lords!

Your Word is powerful, O Lord, yes! Your Word is exceedingly powerful, and sufficient, and never fails!

You said that YOU, through YOUR Son, would build YOUR Church; and the gates of hell will not prevail against it!

Let us NOT be ensnared by the traps of the children of disobedience!

Save us from the snare of the enemy, lest we go into perdition.

We know NO one and NO thing can snatch us from your hands!

Your Church is one Church, and one body, and of one mind—and we are its members. You also said there is ONE Shepherd: the Good Shepherd. We know you come quickly, O Lord, to gather your lost sheep that have been scattered, and to bring judgement which MUST begin IN the churches; even so, come, Lord Jesus!

Your kingdom come! Your will be done! Here on earth as it is in heaven.

Wherefore He saith, awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. (Ephesians 5:14)

May His Word be fulfilled in all of us according to His perfect righteousness and sovereign will. Because HIS is the kingdom, the power, and the glory for ever. Amen.

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. (Ephesians 5:6-7)

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light (Ephesians 5:11-13)

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, (2 Corinthians 6:17)

For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Psalms 11:2-3)
